MAGI: Bringing the Yellow Pages Back to Life for New Zealand's Service Providers
About Client
Our client from New Zealand envisioned a digital platform where people could easily find and connect with service providers, such as caregivers, photographers, and plumbers. The need arose from outdated methods like magazine ads and yellow pages, which no longer served the fast-paced digital world. MAGI was designed to address this by bringing service providers and customers together in a simple, user-friendly way. The project aimed to modernize the "yellow pages" concept while maintaining a familiar, trustworthy experience for users.
Project Overview
We conducted thorough research to understand user needs, which guided the design and functionality of the app. The app was built using tools like Figma for design, Flutter for cross-platform development, and Rive for animations. By following an Agile development approach, we ensured the app was created in stages, allowing for continuous feedback and adjustments. Challenges and Solutions: - Smooth Animations: Integrating engaging animations without slowing down the app was a challenge. We worked closely with experts to ensure the animations were seamless. - Flexible Endorsements and Rewards: Creating a system that the client could easily control and modify required a tailored solution, which we successfully implemented. - Balancing Nostalgia with Modern Design: We struck a balance between a nostalgic magazine-like design and modern usability, ensuring the app was both visually appealing and functional.

What’s Next: We plan to add features like a subscription model for service providers, offering more options and customization.
